All life seems to drain from the face.
An expressionist portrait painted with dry pastel, acrylic, and oil. Most of the paint is applied by hand in a vertical pattern that reminds me of a waterfall. All life seems to drain from the face, leaving a white emptiness in the eyes. The white represents the absence of color. When hung on the wall, it becomes a large blue painting that gives me a sense of calm.
