Carlos Espinoza is an Örebro-based artist who aims to capture the dusty and lawless essence of the old West in contrast with the beauty of human strength. He achieves this by studying the proportion and composition of faces. Using oil paint on canvas, he creates portraits of outlaws, musicians, and close friends who inspire him. This is intended to speak to the viewer as both raw and beautiful. The portraits can be seen as snapshots from the past, where faces are worn by a harsh reality, and the eyes carry the weight of history.
