Two sisters have brought their grandfather's sister Signe's amazing botanical pictures to light. They were sketches for the porcelain painting she loved to do throughout her life, among a range of other aesthetic expressions. She wove, embroidered, painted and threw pottery. At the same time, she was a mother of four children, became a widow early on and was a working woman, involved in politics and women's rights. Signe Lindquist was born in Lövånger in Västerbotten in 1897 and lived to be 95 years old. She is one of many creative women throughout history who have been busy with all of life's tasks, but at the same time fought for their creativity and artistic expression. Now her pictures are being turned into beautiful trays. By showcasing Signe's watercolours, we want to pay tribute to Signe and all the creative women throughout history whose work has often been forgotten.
